Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Accountant ready for a stretch role in our rapidly growing insurance business. The Accountant will work closely with our Controller to support all corporate accounting functions (GL, A/R, A/P, cash, reporting, budgeting, etc.) as well as some of our statutory and reinsurance accounting requirements. This position will grow rapidly as our single state insurance company expands to multi-state over the coming few years.

Responsibilities include:

The role will be instrumental in improving current processes and building new process as we grow our organization. Additionally the accountant will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data to support the preparation of internal and external financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This includes, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, posting and reviewing day-to-day accounting transactions, supporting monthly closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with proper internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Prefer candidates with 2 or more years of public accounting experience, or equivalent corporate general ledger experience
  • Must possess great problem solving and analytical skills, with very high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability learn new concepts quickly
  • Demonstrates persistence, overcomes obstacles, and strives to achieve goals
  • Motivated, enthusiastic self-starter
  • Exposure to one or more insurance company clients is a bonus
  • Practical knowledge of MAS500 is a bonus

Business Intelligence Analyst

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst for our newly-formed direct to consumer auto insurance business. This person will be responsible for data analysis, data modeling and metrics creation to help offer quantitatively based solutions to multiple departments. This person will work with many sets of data in an undefined environment and suggest ways of improving the efficiency of operations, sales, marketing and claims.

The position reports directly to the US Director of Pricing, Product Management, and Business Intelligence and will be responsible for analytical data projects from several business units.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend key metrics for measuring business unit performance and customer segmentation.
  • Develop reports to effectively communicate key metric performance.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and present results to the highest levels of management.
  • Understand the data available within the company and be a resource to all functional areas.
  • Lead teams and work with cross functional groups.
  • Focus on total business success.
  • Lead projects in Pricing, Claims, and Marketing.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree required. A degree in statistics, math, engineering, or other quantitative subjects is preferred. Additional education a plus.
  • Experience in Excel and relational databases such as Access and SQL Server.
  • Proven business analytical experience including project management.
  • at least 2 years in an analytical role. More experience preferred.
  • Able to scrutinize and evaluate data to build conclusions.
  • Insurance experience strongly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A successful candidate must demonstrate superior skills on an analytical standardized-type test administered by us.

Call Center Sales Agent

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic phone representative to sell insurance products and services in our newly formed call center environment. We are looking for customer focused people with a strong desire to succeed in a sales driven environment. Our sales representatives will take incoming phone inquiries as well as respond to outbound leads from potential customers. You will provide price quotes on automobile insurance and help customers decide on the best products for their current situation.

Qualified candidates will have experience in customer service and sales.

Responsibilities include:

  • Selling/Servicing Auto Insurance products over the phone
  • Educating potential clients on their insurance options, providing quotes, and closing sale
  • Following up on potential clients who request online information
  • Assist customers in purchasing policies for quotes completed online
  • Following up on online and individual leads
  • Cross sell ancillary product to existing and new clients
  • Call clients back as needed to close sales opportunities
  • Retain policyholders during renewal period

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required

Compensation:

  • Our Call Center Sales Representatives start out at 11.50 an hour, moving to 11.75 an hour after they complete probation.
  • We request people have open availability to work a scheduled 40 hours a week between 1 pm and 10pm, Monday through Sunday.

Java Developer

Position Overview:

Elephant Insurance Services, LLC is seeking developer to serve as a programmer for our growing team. The right candidate will have a solid work ethic and a desire to learn and be challenged. The Developer will have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines, while having fun. This is an entry level position.

This position is responsible for programming complex, multi-tier front and backend applications, as well as providing operational support for existing applications. The position reports to the Core Systems Manager and interacts with other technical people and business units.

The right candidate will have expertise using Microsoft technologies including VB.Net, ASP.NET, SQL Server, stored procedures. PHP skills are a strong plus. Good communication skills required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with a team, code complex, multi-tier applications for the enterprise
  • Develop layered applications, including user interface, business functionality, and database access
  • Develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, aggressive implementation schedules, reporting, and adherence to development goals and principles

Qualifications:

Pricing Analyst

Elephant Insurance Services LLC is seeking a Pricing Analyst for our rapidly growing insurance business. The Pricing Analyst will work closely with our Director of Pricing. This person will be responsible for researching and modeling auto insurance rates for multiple states. Please include resume, cover letter and most recent salary in your reply. Responsibilities include:

  • Research and remain current on State Departments of Insurance (DOI's) rules and regulations for the development, pricing and marketing of auto insurance products.
  • Create and maintain a national auto product template through the use of industry best practice pricing and segmentation techniques. Recommend modifications of the national product template to take advantage of state specific variations and market segmentation.
  • Implement industry best practice statistical modeling and data mining techniques to analyze auto pricing information including conversion and competitive position.
  • Research and analyze competitors' personal lines product models and techniques.
  • Analyze business models and strategies to measure their effectiveness. Continuously review/refine national pricing template to achieve maximum adaptability, ease of use, and product profitability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience with Excel required; Experience with SQL Server, MS Access or other relational databases preferred.
  • Proven skills in data management and data extraction working with large data sets preferred.
  • Must have an aptitude for critical thinking and problem resolution and outstanding communication skills.
