Helping Herd Recipients

Here are the recipients of the Helping Herd program, an employee-driven, COVID-relief initiative funded by Elephant’s parent company, Admiral Group. The first round of donations focused on nonprofits that serve the community in the mental health area.  We are very proud to support these organizations in the good work they do.

• American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Virginia Chapter – $2,500
• Beacon Tree Foundation – $5,000
• Blue Sky Fund – $3,000
• James House – $5,000
• Jeremiah Foundation/Robin’s Hope – $2,500
• Richmond CASA (a Richmond SCAN program) – $15,000
• NAMI Central Virginia – $10,000
• NAMI Local Chapters in MD, IL, IN, GA, OH, TN and TX – $14,000 ($2,000 each)

For the second round of Helping Herd, the Better Housing Coalition and Boys and Girls Club received the most votes and received the largest donation amounts. The focus of this round was giving to organizations supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in our community.  The full list of second-round recipients and donations includes:

• Girls for a Change – $5,000
• Health Brigade – $7,500
• Project Homes – $5,000

The third round focused on nonprofits that serve the community in the physical health space, and Elephant is giving $75,000 across 13 different organizations. Feed More and Safe Harbor received the most votes and received the largest donation amounts. The full list of third round recipients and donations includes:

• Alzheimer’s Association – $7,000
• ChildSavers – $7,500
• Connor’s Heroes – $5,000
• Crossover Clinic – $2,500
• Daily Planet – $4,000
• Feed More – $10,000
• (IN/IL) Midwest Food Bank – $7,500
• NOVA of VA Aquatics – $3,000
• (GA) Open Hand – $7,500
• Rx Partnership – $5,000
• Safe Harbor – $10,000
• YMCA – $2,500

The fourth and final round of Elephant’s employee-driven COVID-relief donations focused on nonprofits that serve the community in the community health space, totaling $100,000 in donations across 14 different organizations. St. Joseph’s Villa and Comfort Zone Camp received the most votes and largest donation amounts, with each organization receiving $15,000.
