Well, FC Dallas fans, we asked you to show us how much you love your hometown team, and you delivered it in a big way!
This past summer, we here at Elephant Auto Insurance partnered with FC Dallas and asked the team’s fanbase to show us their soccer spirit by submitting an original piece of artwork, along with a brief statement, illustrating just how much they yearn for the “Burn.” We received hundreds of submissions, but one walked away the victor: Monasvi of Mooneyham Elementary. Her depiction of FC Dallas’ iconic Toro logo was truly exemplary. Participants had the option of entering a drawing, painting or photograph.
Her reward? Manasvi scored a VIP pack, where not only did she watch FC Dallas take on the Colorado Rapids under the lights at Toyota Stadium – who unfortunately lost 1-0 – but she was also able to meet some of the soccer club’s roster, like midfielder Ryan Hollingshead, goalkeeper Raul Fernandez, and forward Carlos Armando Gruezo Arboleda.
$1,500 awarded to Mooneyham Elementary’s art program
In September, Arboleda came to Mooneyham Elementary both to meet Monasvi and her classmates, but also to present the school’s art program with a $1,500 check.
Honor Escobar, Mooneyham’s art teacher, expressed her deepest gratitude.
I want to thank Elephant Auto Insurance and FC Dallas first of all for the wonderful opportunity they have given to children to create something and compete for something,” Escobar said. “Secondly, their generous donation to our school’s art program means confidence that I have the resources to provide a fun, hands-on, creative learning experience for each of our almost 800 students! We can’t thank you enough!”
Art programs are integral to children’s development
At Elephant, we know that extracurricular activities like art are a critical component to children’s development, giving them the ability to express their creativity and originality in pictorial form. It is our great pleasure to support the Dallas community.
