While remote, Elephant is assessing the future of the workplace

RICHMOND, VA (October 26, 2020) — Elephant Insurance recently announced plans to have the majority of its employees work remotely until at least July 31, 2021.

“The most important thing we can do as an employer is to keep our employees safe,” said Alberto Schiavon, CEO. “With the uncertainly of the pandemic into the first half of the year, we wanted to plan ahead to provide clarity and consistency for all our employees, especially working parents. The feedback from our team so far is that they are appreciative of the decision and the concern for safety above all else.”

While remote, Elephant is spending time looking at the future of the workplace. Elephant is surveying employees to hear how they feel about working from home, now and in the future.

Elephant is working hard to ensure employees stay connected and engaged and carry on the culture for which it is well known.  A few activities include Elephant’s Got Talent, a Halloween event and staff trivia.

While most Elephant employees have been working remotely since mid-March, customer service levels have remained in the excellent range with zero service outages for its customers.

Elephant did reopen its headquarters after Labor Day to allow for a small number of essential employees to return to the office. Elephant Insurance has more than 630 employees, with most employees based in Richmond.
