Who we are

Elephant, backed by the one of the UK’s largest insurer, Admiral Group plc, was set up in 2009.  Elephant wants to provide low-cost car insurance with a commitment to providing reliable coverage and excellent customer service.

Our success goes hand-in-hand with having a strong culture. We simply believe that happy people make happy customers and happy customers help increase profits. So our philosophy is a simple yet an effective one: People who enjoy what they do, do it better. We put a lot of effort and investment into making sure that Elephant is a happy place to work, where we work hard, have rewarding careers and fun is integral to the working day.

To help keep communication open and transparent everyone sits together and there are no offices. Managers frequently meet with staff to hear what we can do to improve the business and the customer experience.

Equality

Everyone contributes to the business and so everyone is equal, regardless of seniority or length of service; we don’t believe in company cars or executive rooms.

Fun

We encourage employees to have a good time in work, staff satisfaction is important to us; we want people to feel they can truly commit to a career at Elephant.

Recognition

We encourage people to regularly celebrate achievements and successes.  We hold Employee of the Month celebrations, Quarterly Awards and take part in the Group’s, Best Departments to Work, culminating in an Awards Ceremony in the UK.

Stock plan

One of the most appealing benefits for Elephant staff is our free stock plan operated by the company. All members of staff receive up to $5,000 (depending on share price) of free shares every year. Admiral Group floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004.

We want people to feel like they own part of the company. The best way to do this is to give them part of the company to own. Everybody in the organization gets the same number of shares, no matter what you do or how long you’ve been here because every job is important at Elephant. We all work together to make Elephant a successful company.
