RICHMOND, VA, October 11, 2019 — This week Elephant Insurance announced their tenth birthday as an auto insurance company based out of Richmond, Virginia.
Founded in 2009, Elephant is a subsidiary of Admiral Group plc, an FTSE 100 company and one of the U.K.’s leading insurers with a presence in eight countries and over 6 million customers worldwide. Since then, Elephant has grown from insuring 180 vehicles to now protecting over 200,000.
They’ve also seen growth in size as a company. At their startup, Elephant was a small company about fifty employees total. Today, they’ve grown to a company of just under 700 employees, all contributing to a workplace culture that has earned them the honor of repeatedly being named a Top Work Place by the Richmond Times Dispatch and a Great Place to Work®.

In celebration of their ten years, Elephant will be hosting a birthday bash October 5th. A huge party in celebration of the company’s tenth birthday, the event is also a thank you to Elephant’s employees for all their hard work, dedication, and for making the company what it is.
