Elephant Insurance Celebrates 10 Years
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (October 11, 2019)
This week Elephant Insurance announced their tenth birthday as an auto insurance company based out of Richmond, Virginia.
Founded in 2009, Elephant is a subsidiary of Admiral Group plc, an FTSE 100 company and one of the U.K.’s leading insurers with a presence in eight countries and over 6 million customers worldwide. Since then, Elephant has grown from insuring 180 vehicles to now protecting over 200,000.
They’ve also seen growth in size as a company. At their startup, Elephant was a small company about fifty employees total. Today, they’ve grown to a company of just under 700 employees, all contributing to a workplace culture that has earned them the honor of repeatedly being named a Top Work Place by the Richmond Times Dispatch and a Great Place to Work®.
When asked about his journey with Elephant, original employee of ten years Arun Bose had this to say “The atmosphere and Elephant spirit have always been a good part of the company….It’s good to see how willing the company and employees are to embrace change on a regular basis. I really like the people I work with at Elephant, and that’s such a big contributor to a great job.”
As well providing hundreds of jobs in the Richmond area, Elephant has been a huge supporter of the city’s community by partnering with the likes of Project Yellow Light, Virginia Pride, and local favorites the Richmond Kickers and The Richmond Flying Squirrels. “The Richmond community has served Elephant well over the past 10 years; from collaborating with many local businesses, volunteering and contributing to many worthwhile partners and causes, and not to mention Richmond provides us with an extremely talented and passionate workforce,” says Alberto Schiavon, CEO. “We’re proud to be based in RVA and thank the community for helping us reach this significant milestone.”
In celebration of their ten years, Elephant will be hosting a birthday bash October 5th. A huge party in celebration of the company’s tenth birthday, the event is also a thank you to Elephant’s employees for all their hard work, dedication, and for making the company what it is. Local vendors will be providing delicious foods from around the world, and the company is providing entertainment for adults and kids alike with games, bounce houses, live music, and more. “We wanted to do something really special to celebrate this year,” said Logan Buyalos, Communications Manager at Elephant, “so we’ve put all our efforts into making this an amazing experience for everyone and their families to celebrate together.”
