At Elephant, we believe that happy employees make happy customers, so we have a strong focus on making Elephant a happy place to work. One piece of that happy puzzle is having healthy employees. In 2016, a wellness initiative was launched “Stampeding Towards Our Maximum Potential” (STOMP). STOMP allows our employees to receive incentives for participating in a variety of wellness activities.

Another way that we encourage fun and wellness is through our ‘Run Elephant Run’ program. Every Elephant employee is eligible for up to four $40 reimbursements per year for athletic event registration. During the first half of 2016, we have reimbursed employees for 202 event registrations!

We are also a sponsor of the Monument Avenue 10k, an annual race in downtown Richmond. Our employees are encouraged to participate in this and other community wellness events through the Run Elephant Run reimbursements.


Parental Leave

Here at Elephant, we want to create an environment that supports the lives of our employees – both in and out of the office. To help in that effort, we have put a generous parental leave policy in place. Check out our parental leave page for more info.


You are a shareholder

One of the most appealing benefits of working for Elephant is the free stock plan operated by the Admiral Group. All members of staff receive up to $5,000 (depending on share price) of free shares every year. Ownership of the shares vest after three years and staff receive dividends along to way.

Buy a Book Scheme

We purchase books to help our employees with their professional development and growth. In 2015 we purchased over 200 books for our employees.

Port of Calls

Port of Calls allows employees to sit with someone in another department to learn more about their position or to ask questions to help in their current position. In 2016 we have had over 400 port of calls.

Community Chest

We match employee donations toward nonprofit organizations of their choice. Some of the organizations we have matched donations to include; celebrate! RVA, Richmond SPCA, National MS Society, Children’s Hospital of Richmond, Alzheimer’s Association, St Baldrick’s Foundation, and Big Brothers Big Sisters to name a few.

Educational Support Program

Elephant supports professional growth and development. We reimburse our employees up to $1,000 per year for relevant professional exams. Previous certifications our employees have obtained are the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Professional in Human Resources, Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Public Accountant, and many more.
